It’s a Pets Paradise
The role of our furry friends has come long way in the part they play in this everchanging urban landscape.
We once considered our playful puppies to occupy a sprawling backyard and our feline friends to roam the neighbourhood streets from dawn till dusk!
However, with the huge increase in inner-city apartment living over the past 25 years, developers have had to move with the times and make more and more allowances so our pets can peacefully reside with us and in harmony with our neighbours. To be frank, they would not get the sales needed if pets were excluded!
Having sold apartments now for 21 years, I know how the family pet is truly one of “the children” and it would be a deal breaker if “Fido” could not move in with all the crew.
Of course, it’s not just confined to families. People who live alone love the companionship and unconditional love a pet provides and hence their “non-negotiable” stance when it comes to pets and property ownership going hand in hand.
Here at Enclave we had a recent situation where a lovely man who purchased a high-end apartment in Dwell, took his last dog on regular trips to Sydney from Brisbane for specialist chemotherapy treatment.
Indeed, Vets certainly realise the value we place on our pets and the extent owners will go to protect and ensure their wellbeing. Vet bills are sky-rocketing and Stephanie Campbell who works at Enclave selling Dwell, actually pays more for Hugo’s (the golden retriever) health insurance than for her own. He’s still a puppy but already he’s had his first specialist chiropractic appointment!
Yes, the times are a changing. When I sold at Cutters Landing in 2001, only one pet was allowed, and it had to be under 10kgs. Now at Unison for example, the by-laws allow for two pets and weight is not an issue. The emphasis is now on good character and behaviour with some residents even requiring a character reference for their dogs.
At Enclave we all share our apartments with our pets. Sharon and Cameron absolutely love Harry the Spoodle, not to mention Steph with huggable Hugo and Katie couldn’t imagine life without her Cockalier Ollie.
Our dogs integral part of our family and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Yep, pets are here to stay!!
Bye for now
